FAQS
Dryer Repair Questions
Can you repair my dryer if it's still under warranty?
Yes. We can repair dryers still under manufacturer’s warranty. For the repair to be covered under warranty, contact the manufacturer directly and request a work order confirming warranty coverage and authorisation. Once we receive the valid work order, we’ll proceed with the warranty repair.
If you prefer to proceed without a manufacturer’s work order, we’re happy to repair your dryer on a chargeable basis. Either way, our repairs won’t void your manufacturer’s warranty when carried out to manufacturer repair standards.
How much does a dryer repair typically cost?
Dryer repair costs vary depending on the specific issue. Thermal fuse replacement or belt repair may be relatively low-cost. Heating element replacement or motor repair can be more substantial. The best way to get an accurate quote is to call us on 1300-434-380 for a free phone consultation. We’ll discuss your issue and provide ballpark costs before scheduling your appointment.
Can you fix my dryer today?
We aim to complete most dryer repairs same-day when parts are in stock, especially for common issues like thermal fuse replacement or belt repair. Call us immediately on 1300-434-380 and we’ll assess whether same-day repair is possible for your specific issue. For urgent situations, we prioritise next-day appointments.
Is it worth repairing an older dryer, or should I replace it?
This depends on repair costs versus replacement value, age of the appliance, and frequency of breakdowns. A heating element replacement on a relatively new dryer is usually worth fixing. A motor failure on a 12-year-old dryer might make replacement more sensible. Our technicians can assess your situation and provide an honest recommendation during inspection.
Why does my dryer need a professional? Can't I fix it myself?
Dryer repairs involve high-voltage electrical systems, heating elements that reach dangerous temperatures, and complex mechanical parts. DIY attempts risk electrocution, burns, fire hazards, and voided warranties. Professional repair ensures safety, proper diagnosis, and lasting fixes. Our technicians are trained on all dryer types and carry genuine parts.
Why is my dryer taking longer to dry than usual?
Several issues can cause extended drying time: a blockage in the vent system, a faulty moisture sensor, a failing thermostat, weak heating element, or reduced motor power. Our technicians will diagnose the cause during inspection. In the meantime, check that your lint filter is clean and your dryer venting is not blocked with lint buildup.
Can you install a new dryer if mine can't be repaired?
Yes. If replacement is the best option, we supply, install, and remove your old dryer, so you get a seamless, hassle-free experience. We can discuss dryer options and pricing during your service call.
What's the difference between vented, condenser, and heat pump dryers?
Vented dryers expel hot air outside through a vent; they’re efficient but require external venting. Condenser dryers collect moisture in a tank or drain without external venting. Heat pump dryers use recycled warm air for energy efficiency. We repair all types—each requires specific expertise, which our technicians possess.
